Day 36: Failing to See Jesus’ Victory
Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, You alone are worthy of all praise, honor and glory. Thank You for the finished work of Your Son Jesus Christ on the cross, through which He overcome death and defeated our true enemy, satan. Please forgive us for the times when we take our eyes off the victorious cross and lose sight of all that You have achieved through Christ’s death and resurrection. Renew our minds to the truth of Jesus’ triumph over sin and death. By Your Spirit, help us remain steadfast in proclaiming this victory to the world around us. Draw our hearts ever closer to You through continued remembrance of all You have done for us through Your Son. We ask these things in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
Scripture Reading and Reflection

Galatians 3:1-5 KJV
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Reflection:
In Galatians 3, Paul laments how quickly the Galatian believers had wandered from the clear reality of the cross. Jesus Christ had been “clearly portrayed as crucified” before their eyes, yet somehow they were being led astray. satan relentlessly tries to obscure the true victory and power of Jesus’ finished work on the cross. He wants us to lose sight of what Christ accomplished so that we will try to accomplish our salvation through our own efforts rather than relying completely on God’s grace. As Paul asks the Galatians, “Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by faith in what you heard?” (Gal. 3:2). The answer is clear – it is by faith in Christ alone that we receive salvation and the indwelling Spirit. Any attempt to add works to the equation diminishes what Christ did on the cross. satan wants us living in defeat rather than the triumph promised through the cross (Col. 2:15). But thanks be to God, through Jesus “death has been swallowed up in victory” (1 Cor. 15:54). By His perfect life, sacrificial death and resurrection, Jesus defeated sin, death and the devil (Heb. 2:14-15; Rom. 8:3). He alone is “the pioneer and perfecter of our faith” (Heb. 12:2). When we fix our eyes on Him and His finished work, we can walk in the victory that is ours in Christ.Hymn:
Never Lose Sight of Jesus
1 Oh, Pilgrim bound for the heav’nly land, Never lose sight of Jesus; He’ll lead you gently with loving hand, Never lose sight of Jesus.
Chorus: Never lose sight of Jesus, Never lose sight of Jesus; Day and night He will lead you right, Never lose sight of Jesus.
2 Whene’er you’re tempted to go astray, Never lose sight of Jesus; Press onward, upward, the narrow way, Never lose sight of Jesus. [Chorus]
3 Tho’ dark the pathway may seem ahead, Never lose sight of Jesus; “I will be with you,” His word hath said, Never lose sight of Jesus; [Chorus]
4 When death is knocking outside the door, Never lose sight of Jesus; Till safely landed on Canaan’s shore, Never lose sight of Jesus. [Chorus]

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
