Day 34: Total Forgiveness

Opening Prayer

opening prayer

Heavenly Father, we praise You as the God of all comfort who forgives all our sins and remembers them no more. Thank You for providing a way for us to be cleansed from all unrighteousness through the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Help us to truly grasp the depth of Your forgiveness so that we walk in freedom and not guilt or condemnation. By Your Spirit, remove any lingering doubts and empower us to stand firm in the confidence of our salvation. May Your peace that surpasses all understanding rule in our hearts today. We ask that You would use this time to strengthen our faith and draw us nearer to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture Reading and Reflection

total forgiveness

Jeremiah 31:34 KJV

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Reflection:

The perfect love of God is seen most clearly at Calvary, when “he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Cor. 5:21). Through Christ’s sacrifice, God “canceled the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands” and “set aside” our sins (Col. 2:13-14). As Jeremiah declared, “I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more” (Jer. 31:34). God does not forgive us partially – He chooses to forget! In Psalm 103:12, He casts our transgressions “as far as the east is from the west.” With such a great chasm between, our sins can never again be held against us. Romans 8:1 assures, “there is…no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” And Ephesians 1:7 says, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses.” How marvelous is this freedom from any trace of guilt or shame! The devil would have us doubt God’s grace, but 1 John 1:9 confirms, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” What confidence and assurance flow from this total pardon – we stand complete in Him (Col. 2:10)! Praise God for the perfect cleansing only found at Calvary’s cross. In Christ, we are fully forgiven.

Hymn:

My Sins Are Blotted Out, I Know!

1 What a wondrous message in God’s Word! My sins are blotted out, I know! If I trust in His redeeming blood, My sins are blotted out, I know!

Refrain: My sins are blotted out, I know! My sins are blotted out, I know! They are buried in the depths of the deepest sea; My sins are blotted out, I know!

2 Once my heart was black but now, what joy, My sins are blotted out, I know! I have peace that nothing can destroy, My sins are blotted out, I know! (Refrain)

3 I shall stand someday before my King, My sins are blotted out, I know! With the ransomed host I then shall sing: “My sins are blotted out, I know!” (Refrain)

Closing Prayer

closing prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your total forgiveness which is ours through faith in Jesus. Help us to always remember that our sins are forever separated from us as far as the east is from the west. Give us grace to stand strong in the assurance that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. May Your Spirit continually remind us of the perfect cleansing we have received through the cross. Help us to freely extend that same forgiveness to others. Use these moments spent reflecting on Your boundless mercy to strengthen our walk with You. We pray that Your peace would fill our hearts and lives to overflowing. In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
