Day 40: We Are Winners
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with praise and thanksgiving in our hearts. Thank You that through faith in Jesus Christ, we are declared victors over sin, death, and all the powers of darkness. When the world tells us we are losers, Your truth assures us that we have already overcome through Your Son. As struggles and trials press in all around us, remind us of Your unfailing promises that can renew our hope. Fill us afresh with the Holy Spirit’s strength and courage. As we reflect on the reality that we are winners in Christ, open our eyes to see this spiritual victory more clearly. Reveal to us the exceeding greatness of Your power at work within us. We ask this in the all-conquering name of Jesus. Amen.
Scripture Reading and Reflection
1 John 5:4-5 KJV
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Reflection:
Through faith in Jesus, we can stand secure amidst any storm, for greater is He within us than any enemy without (1 Jn. 4:4). Christ has defeated sin, death and the devil at the cross, so we no longer need to cower in fear of these foes (Heb. 2:14-15). By God’s grace, the works of the devil have already been destroyed through Christ’s finished work (1 Jn. 3:8). The victory is already ours because of what Jesus has accomplished for us (1 Cor. 15:57). We were dead in trespasses but are now alive with Christ (Eph. 2:1, 5). As those born of God, we have overcome the temptations and lies of the world through faith (1 Jn. 5:4-5). The One living in us is mightier than any power that goes against us (Rom. 8:37). Though trials come, let us hold fast to the promise that we will share fully in Christ’s glory (Rom. 8:17). By the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, we have conquered satan despite facing persecution or trials (Rev. 12:11). Empowered by the Spirit of Holiness, we can live victoriously for His name (Rom. 1:4). In all things, Christ leads us in His triumphal procession (2 Cor. 2:14). Truly, we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us (Rom. 8:37)!Hymn:
Victory Through Jesus
1 Victory thro’ Jesus! Oh, catch the word divine, Pass it quickly onward Along the battle line; Write it on our banner, Proclaim it as we go; Victory thro’ Jesus! Our watch-cry here below.
Refrain: Victory! victory! shout it o’er and o’er! Victory! victory! praise forevermore; Praise to God the Father, in ev’ry land adored, Who giveth us the victory thro’ Christ our Lord.
2 Victory thro’ Jesus! Our Victor over sin, He himself has promised The faithful soul shall win; Long may be the contest, And hard the work to do: Only look to Jesus, His grace will bring us through. [Refrain]
3 Forward then, ye soldiers, Behold our Leader near! Sound again the watch-cry, That all the world may hear: Victory thro’ Jesus! To those who faithful prove; Victory thro’ Jesus! And crowns of life above. [Refrain]

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
