Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, on this Father’s Day, we turn our hearts to You, the ultimate source of love and guidance. As we celebrate earthly fathers, we reflect on Your unfailing paternal care. Grant us a deeper understanding of Your love and the strength to live according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
READING
Psalm 103:13
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
REFLECTION
Imagine a loving father, his eyes filled with tenderness and concern for his children. This is the image Psalm 103:13 paints of God’s relationship with those who revere Him. Just as a father offers compassion, understanding, and forgiveness, so does God extend His grace to us.
Consider:
- How does the idea of God as a loving father impact your understanding of Him?
- In what areas of your life do you need to surrender to God’s compassionate care?
MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Let Psalm 103:13 (ESV) be a source of comfort and strength this week: “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.” Reflect on the unwavering love God has for you.
CREATING AND MEDITATING
Choose a creative activity: Option 1: Write a heartfelt letter to your father expressing your gratitude for his love and presence in your life. Share specific memories that hold special meaning. Option 2: Create a “gratitude tree.” Draw a tree and on each leaf, write down something you appreciate about your father or father figure. It can be a big quality or a small gesture.TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
Let’s celebrate the fathers in our lives beyond just this day. Here are some ways to show your appreciation:
- Spend quality time with your father.
- Offer to help him with a task or project.
- Make a phone call or send a card expressing your love and gratitude.
Hymn
Like as a Father
1 Like as a father, pities his child, So the Lord pities the sinner defiled; Waiteth in kindness, Pities our blindness, Longeth to welcome, tho’ often reviled.
2 Like as a father when we believe, Merciful Saviour, He waits to receive; Listens to hear us, Blesses to cheer us, Pities whenever His Spirit we grieve.
3 Like as a father, ever the same, He that created, and knoweth our frame; Watcheth the straying, Guardeth the praying, Bids us to trust in His Almighty name.
4 Like as a father, constant is He, God is our passion regardeth our plea; In need He cometh, Precious His promise; Father in heaven for ever to be.

Dear Heavenly Father, as we celebrate fathers on Earth, we praise You, our eternal Father. Thank You for Your boundless love, Your unwavering presence, and Your endless forgiveness. May we reflect Your love in all we do and live in the comfort of Your compassionate care. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
