Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we delve into Your Word, we seek Your wisdom and understanding. Open our hearts and minds to receive the insights You have for us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

READING

Ezra 7:10

For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.

REFLECTION

Reflect on Ezra’s example of setting his heart to study, do, and teach the Law of the Lord. How can you incorporate a similar commitment to seeking God’s wisdom in your life?

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Commit Ezra 7:10 to memory. Let this be a reminder to prioritize God’s Word.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

Choose a creative activity:
  1. Option 1: Create a study plan for yourself. Identify specific passages or topics you want to delve into, emulating Ezra’s commitment to studying God’s Word.
  2. Option 2: Meditate on the importance of not only learning but also applying and teaching God’s principles in your daily life.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

Identify an area in your life where you need God’s wisdom. Take practical steps to study and apply relevant scriptures. Consider sharing your insights with others.

Hymn

Thy Word Is a Lamp

1.

Thy Word is a lamp to my feet, O Lord, Thy Word is a light to my way; It shines in my soul like a star by night, And comforts and cheers me by day.

2.

Refrain: O wonderful, wonderful Word, My treasure, my hope, and my stay; Each promise recorded delights my soul, And brightens each step of my way.

3.

Thy Word is a lamp to my feet, O Lord, And, trusting in Thee as my all, Whatever of evil may cross my path, I never, no, never can fall. [Refrain]

4.

Thy Word is a lamp to my feet, O Lord, And oh, when Thy glory I see, For all the rich blessings its truth has brought, The praises will I give unto Thee. [Refrain]

Words: Fanny Crosby, Music: Hubert Platt Main

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
