Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Gracious Father, as we gather in Your presence, anchor our hearts in the hope found in Your promises. May this time of reflection draw us closer to You and deepen our trust in Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

READING

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

REFLECTION

Reflect on Romans 15:13 and the profound connection between hope, joy, and peace. How does the concept of being filled with hope impact your daily life? Consider moments when hope has brought joy and peace into challenging circumstances.

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Commit Romans 15:13 to memory. Let this verse serve as an anchor in times of uncertainty, a reminder that God is the source of our hope, joy, and peace.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

In this part of the devotional, you have the option to choose between two creative activities:
  1. Hope Collage: Create a collage that represents the elements of hope, joy, and peace. Use images, words, and colors that resonate with the emotions associated with these concepts.
  2. Gratitude Journal: Begin a gratitude journal focusing on moments of hope in your life. Write about the people, experiences, or blessings that have brought hope, joy, and peace.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

Consider practical steps to anchor yourself in hope:
  1. Daily Hope Affirmation: Develop a daily affirmation from the Bible centered on hope. Repeat this affirmation as a reminder of the hope found in God’s promises.
  2. Acts of Kindness: Engage in acts of kindness to spread hope to others. Small gestures can have a profound impact on someone’s outlook.
  3. Scripture Meditation: Set aside time for scripture meditation, focusing on passages that emphasize hope, joy, and peace. Let these verses guide your thoughts and prayers.

Hymn

My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less

1.

My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

2.

When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil.

Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

3.

His oath, His covenant, His blood, Support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.

Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

4.

When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found; In Him, my righteousness, alone, Faultless to stand before the throne.

Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

Words: Edward Mote, Music: William Batchelder Bradbury

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the anchor of hope that holds us firm in Your promises. As we conclude this time of reflection, may Your Spirit continue to fill us with joy and peace, abounding in hope. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
