Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your steadfast justice and mercy. As we open our hearts to Your Word today, teach us to walk humbly, to trust in Your perfect ways, and to seek refuge in You alone. Help us to remember that pride leads to downfall, but those who trust in You are secure forever. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
READING
Obadiah 1:15
For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head.
REFLECTION
The Book of Obadiah reminds us of God’s unshakable justice. Pride, arrogance, and harm done to others do not go unnoticed by the Lord. “As you have done, it shall be done to you” is a strong call to live righteously and compassionately.
We often think our actions are hidden or forgotten, but Scripture reminds us that God sees and remembers. The “day of the Lord” will reveal everything. Yet, for those who humble themselves and seek His mercy, there is hope and restoration.
Today, let’s ask ourselves: Are we sowing seeds of kindness and justice, or are we letting pride creep into our lives? God’s justice is sure, but so is His mercy for those who turn to Him.
MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Committing to Heart: Write out Obadiah 1:15 in your journal or Bible journal page. Use decorative lettering or a simple frame around it. As you slowly write each word, reflect on the importance of sowing good seeds in every part of your life.CREATING AND MEDITATING
Choose a creative activity:Option 1: Justice and Mercy Artwork
Create an artwork (drawing, painting, or digital design) that visually contrasts Justice and Mercy. You might illustrate a set of balanced scales, a hand reaching down to lift someone up, or two paths – one leading to pride and destruction, the other to humility and life.
Option 2: Scripture Reflection Writing
Find a quiet space and write a short reflection titled: “Sowing Seeds That Last.” Think of small actions you can take each day to sow kindness, humility, and love. Meditate on the truth that everything we do matters in God’s eyes.
TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
This week, intentionally do one act of kindness or justice that no one else may see. Help a neighbor, give anonymously, pray for someone hurting, or simply offer a listening ear. Trust that even unseen acts are seen and rewarded by God.
Hymn
The Kingdom of God Is Justice and Joy
1 The kingdom of God is justice and joy; For Jesus restores what sin would destroy. God’s power and glory in Jesus we know; And here and hereafter the kingdom shall grow.
2 The kingdom of God is mercy and grace; The captives are freed, the sinners find place, The outcast are welcomed God’s banquet to share; And hope is awakened in place of despair.
3 The kingdom of God is challenge and choice: Believe the good news, repent and rejoice! God’s love for us sinners brought Christ to his cross: Our crisis of judgement for gain or for loss.
4 God’s kingdom is come, the gift and the goal; In Jesus begun, in heaven made whole. The heirs of the kingdom shall answer his call; And all things cry “Glory!” to God all in all.

Closing Prayer
Dear Father in Heaven,
Thank You for being a God of perfect justice and unfailing mercy. Help us to live humbly before You, to sow good seeds in faith, and to walk in ways that honor You. Remind us daily that our choices matter, and empower us by Your Spirit to reflect Your heart to the world around us.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
