Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of children and the joy, wonder, and purity they bring into the world. Today, we remember the words of Jesus who welcomed children into His presence. Help us to do the same – with open hearts, loving arms, and patient spirits. Teach us to value children the way You do and to learn from their faith. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

READING

Mark 10:14

But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.’

REFLECTION

In a world where children were often overlooked, Jesus made time for them. He was displeased when His disciples tried to keep them away and made it clear: children matter deeply to God. This passage shows us that children are not just the future – they are part of the Kingdom now. Their humble trust, innocent joy, and open hearts are qualities Jesus wants us to embrace ourselves. Today, let’s ask: Do we create space for children to know Jesus? Do we value their voices, nurture their spirits, and help them grow in faith? And are we willing to approach God with the same childlike trust and sincerity?

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Committing to Heart:
Write Mark 10:14 in large, bold letters in your journal or on a Bible journaling page. Decorate the space with drawings of children holding Jesus’ hand or sitting around Him. As you reflect, thank God for the young lives He’s placed in your care or community.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

Choose a creative activity:

Option 1: “Jesus Welcomes Me” Craft
Draw a scene of Jesus sitting with a group of children around Him. Include yourself in the picture- draw your younger self or place your name among the children. Meditate on what it means to be fully welcomed by Jesus.

Option 2: Prayer Hands Art
Trace your hand (or a child’s hand) on paper and inside each finger write a prayer for children around the world: protection, education, faith, love, and joy. Let this artwork become a prayer focus throughout the week.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

This week, do something intentional to bless a child:

  • Share a Bible story with them

  • Give them a card or small gift

  • Speak encouragement over them

  • Pray with them

Also, consider supporting or praying for ministries that help vulnerable children – orphans, refugees, or children in poverty.

Hymn

Jesus Loves the Little Children

Jesus loves the little children, All the children of the world; Red and yellow, black and white, They are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Words: C. H. Woolston, Music: George F. Root

Closing Prayer

Dear Jesus,
Thank You for welcoming children with open arms. Help us to never hinder them from coming to You. Let our lives reflect Your gentle love, and may we honor and cherish the children around us. Teach us to trust You like they do and to walk in Your ways with childlike faith. In Your name we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
