Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we reflect on the story of Esther this week, help us to recognize Your hand in our lives, even when we cannot see it clearly. Strengthen our hearts with courage, and help us to trust Your timing and purpose. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

REFLECTION

The Book of Esther reminds us that God’s hand is often at work behind the scenes, even when His name isn’t mentioned. Esther’s story is one of courage, faith, and stepping up to the challenge placed before her. Like Esther, we may face moments in life where we are called to take risks for the sake of others, trusting that God has placed us in specific situations for a purpose. Consider:

• Are there situations in your life where you feel God is calling you to be courageous like Esther?
• How can you trust in God’s providence, even when the future seems uncertain?

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Let Esther 4:14b (ESV) inspire you this week: “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Reflect on this verse as you face your own challenges and decisions, trusting that God has placed you where you are for a reason.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

Choose a creative activity: Option 1: Create a “Courage Board.” Collect quotes, Scriptures, and images that inspire bravery and faith. As you craft, think about the ways God might be asking you to step forward in courage, just as Esther did. Let this board serve as a reminder of your potential to make a difference in God’s plan. Option 2: Take time to write a letter to God, expressing any fears or uncertainties you may be facing. As you write, ask for the same courage and faith that Esther displayed. Meditate on how God’s unseen hand is guiding your life, even in challenging moments.  

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

This week, take a step of faith in an area of your life where you feel God is calling you to act courageously. It could be standing up for someone, sharing your faith, or making a difficult decision. Trust that God has brought you to this moment for a reason, and seek His wisdom as you move forward.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of courage in the life of Esther. Help us to trust Your plan and to act with faith, even when we don’t fully understand what You are doing. Give us the strength to step forward in the places You have called us to. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
