Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we reflect on Your words in Deuteronomy this week, remind us of Your faithfulness throughout all generations. Open our hearts to receive Your truth, and teach us to live in obedience to You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

READING

Deuteronomy 6:5

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

REFLECTION

In Deuteronomy, God calls His people to remember His faithfulness and respond with wholehearted love and devotion. The command to love God with all our heart, soul, and might isn’t just about emotion—it’s about committing every aspect of our lives to Him. When we love God this way, we prioritize Him above all else, allowing our love for Him to guide our actions, thoughts, and decisions. Consider:
  • What does it look like for you to love God with all your heart, soul, and might in your daily life?
  • Are there areas of your life where you struggle to give God complete control? How can you invite Him into those spaces?

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Let Deuteronomy 6:5 (ESV) be a guiding verse for you this week: “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Repeat this verse throughout your day, letting it shape how you respond to life’s challenges.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

Choose a creative activity: Option 1: Create a “Heart, Soul, Might” collage. Gather images, words, or symbols that represent different aspects of your life (heart, soul, and might). Arrange them into a visual representation of how you are currently loving and serving God, and reflect on areas where you can deepen your devotion. Option 2: Choose a quiet place to sit with God. Spend time in silence, focusing on offering Him your heart, soul, and might. Let His presence fill those areas of your life where you may feel weak or uncertain, and rest in His faithfulness.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

This week, actively seek ways to love God with every part of who you are. Whether it’s through an act of kindness, making time for prayer, or serving others, let your love for God be the foundation of your actions. Take small steps each day to live out this command, trusting that God’s faithfulness will meet you there.

Hymn

Love God With All Your Soul and Strength

Love God with all your soul and strength. With all your heart and mind; And love your neighbor as yourself: Be faithful, just, and kind.

Deal with another as you’d have Another deal with you: What you’re unwilling to receive, Be sure you never do.

Words: Isaac Watts, Music: Old English Melody

Closing Prayer

Gracious Father, thank You for the reminder to love You with all our heart, soul, and might. Help us to fully surrender every part of our lives to You, trusting in Your guidance and grace. May our love for You be reflected in everything we do. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
