Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, on this special day dedicated to honoring fathers, we come before you with grateful hearts. Thank you for the gift of fatherhood and for the loving influences in our lives that have nurtured and guided us. As we delve into your Word and engage in creative reflection, may we gain a deeper understanding of your role as our Heavenly Father and the significance of our nurturing influence in shaping hearts. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
READING
Ephesians 6:4
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
REFLECTION
Take a moment to reflect on the significance of nurturing hearts and the impact it has on those around us. Consider the influence of both earthly fathers and our Heavenly Father in guiding and shaping our life. Reflect on the responsibility we have to nurture and guide others in the ways of the Lord, fostering an environment of love, discipline, and instruction. Ponder the ways in which your nurturing influence can shape the character and faith of those entrusted to your care.MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Write down and memorize Ephesians 6:4. This verse will serve as a reminder of the important role you have in nurturing and guiding hearts, following the example of both earthly fathers and our Heavenly Father. By committing it to memory, you can reflect on it throughout the week and allow it to impact your understanding of nurturing hearts.CREATING AND MEDITATING
In this part of the devotional, you have the option to choose between two creative activities:- Drawing: Reflect on the guidance and love you have received from both earthly fathers and your Heavenly Father. Consider the qualities and lessons you appreciate or aspire to embody in your nurturing role. Create a drawing that represents these qualities or moments. Let your artwork express the love, care, and impact of nurturing hearts.
- Writing: Set aside some time to journal or write a letter. Reflect on the lessons, wisdom, or cherished moments you have experienced through the guidance of earthly fathers and the Heavenly Father. Write down your thoughts, memories, and expressions of gratitude. Consider finding a way to share these reflections or expressions of appreciation.
TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
Consider how you can apply the principles of Ephesians 6:4 in your own life as you nurture and guide hearts:- Nurture with Love: Embrace your role in nurturing the hearts of others with love and compassion. Create an atmosphere of acceptance, understanding, and encouragement, fostering growth and emotional well-being.
- Lead by Example: Reflect the character of our Heavenly Father in your interactions with others. Demonstrate godly values and behavior through your words and actions, serving as a positive influence on those around you.
- Honoring Earthly Fathers: Take time to honor and appreciate the fathers in your life. Show gratitude for the love, sacrifices, and guidance they have provided. Express your appreciation and support, acknowledging their important role in shaping hearts.
- Encouraging and Supporting Husbands: If you are married to a father, encourage and support your husband in his role as a father. Offer words of affirmation, assistance, and understanding. Pray for him, asking God to equip him with wisdom and strength as he guides and nurtures your children.
- Pray: Lift up prayers for all fathers, including your own and your husband if applicable. Seek God’s blessings, guidance, and protection over their lives. Pray for their hearts to be filled with love, wisdom, and patience as they fulfill their role in nurturing and guiding the next generation.
Hymn
Faith of Our Fathers
Faith of our fathers, living still, In spite of dungeon, fire, and sword; O how our hearts beat high with joy Whene’er we hear that glorious Word! Faith of our fathers, holy faith! We will be true to thee till death!
Our fathers, chained in prisons dark, Were still in heart and conscience free; How sweet would be their children’s fate, If they, like them, could die for thee! Faith of our fathers, holy faith! We will be true to thee till death!
Faith of our fathers, we will strive To win all nations unto thee; And through the truth that comes from God, We all shall then be truly free. Faith of our fathers, holy faith! We will be true to thee till death!
Faith of our fathers, we will love Both friend and foe in all our strife; And preach thee too, as love knows how, By kindly words and virtuous life. Faith of our fathers, holy faith! We will be true to thee till death!

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
