One thing I see often among emerging Kingdom leaders is the subtle pressure to wait until everything feels in place. They sense a call, but they expect God to activate that calling once life looks more organized. Once they have more knowledge. Once they feel stronger. Once they’ve overcome whatever they’re facing.
The problem is that Scripture doesn’t support that mindset.
When God calls someone, He doesn’t wait for ideal conditions. He steps into their present reality and works through what they already have.
Think of Moses. When God told him to lead Israel, Moses immediately pointed to his weakness.
Oh my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue (Exodus 4:10 ESV).
God didn’t say He would wait until Moses gained confidence. He reminded him that He is the One who equips.
Look at Gideon. He wasn’t leading an army. He was hiding in a winepress.
The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor (Judges 6:12 ESV).
Gideon didn’t feel mighty. He didn’t look mighty. Nothing about his situation suggested leadership. But God named him according to his calling, not his fear.
Paul gives us the principle plainly.
But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong (1 Corinthians 1:27 ESV).
God doesn’t look for perfection. He looks for willingness.
Here’s what this means for Kingdom leaders today. God isn’t asking you to move into a different season before He can work through you. He isn’t waiting for you to graduate into a better version of yourself. You don’t need a bigger audience, a more stable life or a perfect understanding of your calling.
Your current place is part of your assignment.
- If you are in a hidden season, that’s training ground.
- If you are walking through pain, your endurance becomes a testimony.
- If your influence feels small, that’s where faithfulness is formed.
- If you are wrestling with insecurity, you’re standing in the same place as nearly every leader He has ever called.
Paul understood this deeply.
But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV).
God’s power is revealed right in the areas you feel least qualified.
So if you are stepping into Kingdom leadership, settle this truth early. You don’t start leading when everything feels right. You start leading by obeying God today. Right where you stand.
Your assignment doesn’t begin in the future. It begins in the present.
Let God use your current season as the place where His Kingdom breaks through. Say yes where you are, and He will take responsibility for where you are going.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
