There are moments when God speaks, and everything inside you goes still.

This was one of those moments for me.

I had been thinking about provision – about income, sustainability, and how to build what God has given me. My thoughts were practical, normal… the kind of thoughts that come when you are trying to be responsible and faithful.

And then, in the middle of that, the Lord spoke:

“Your currency is not money. Your currency is love.”

It stopped me.

Not because I didn’t understand the words but because I suddenly realized how much of my thinking had been shaped by worldly standards.

I had been measuring things in ways that felt natural… but were not actually Kingdom.

And in that one sentence, God gently shifted my perspective.

He wasn’t saying money doesn’t matter. And He is not against money.

But He was showing me that money is not the focus… and it is not the measure.

Love is.

And not love as a feeling but love as obedience… love as giving… love as pouring out what He has placed inside me, without first measuring what will come back.

In that moment, I knew: if I build with love, I am building in alignment with Heaven.

And if I measure by anything else, I will always feel like I don’t have enough.

Jesus said, A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34, WEB)

This kind of love is not passive. It moves. It gives. It responds to God.

And I began to see something deeper:

Every act of obedience rooted in love is a transaction in the Kingdom.

Every time I write what He gives me… every time I serve… every time I choose faithfulness over fear… something is being released that cannot always be measured naturally but is very real in Heaven.

Money can support the assignment.

But love is what carries it.

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB)

When I worry too much about provision and money, I step out of rest into fear. I start calculating. I start holding back.

But when I return to love – to loving God, loving people, and staying faithful to what He asked me to do – I come back into alignment with God.

And in that place, there is peace again.

Understanding the Currency of the Kingdom

When God says, “Your currency is love,” He is not just speaking personally. He is revealing how His Kingdom works.

In the world, we measure value by what we can gain.

In the Kingdom, value is revealed by what flows through love.

If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:3, WEB)

This means something very simple, but very deep:

Without love, even sacrifice loses its value.

But with love, even the smallest act becomes eternal.

Love is what gives weight to what we do.

Love is what makes it count.

And love is what God looks at.

Money itself is not the problem.

Scripture does not say that money is evil but it warns us about where our love is placed:

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10, WEB)

The issue is not having money.

The issue is when money becomes the focus… the measure… or the source of our security.

Jesus also said, “But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33, WEB)

Seeking the Kingdom is not complicated.

It’s choosing love.

It’s walking in obedience.

It’s trusting God enough to give, serve, create, and move without needing to secure the outcome first.

Fear will always tell you: “You need more before you can give.”

But God says through love: “Give what I have already given you.”

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18, WEB)

The more we live from love, the less fear leads in our life.

And the less fear leads, the freer we become to live in God’s provision instead of striving for it.

Living From the Right Currency

This changes the questions we ask.

Not: “How much will this make?” But: “Is this truly serving God and others?”

Not: “Is this secure?” But: “Do I trust God enough to do this?”

Not: “What will I get back?” But: “Am I being faithful with what He gave me?”

When love becomes your currency, your life begins to align differently.

You may still handle money. You may still build, earn, and grow.

But it will no longer have your heart.

You may not always see immediate results in natural ways.

But you will carry something deeper:

Peace instead of pressure. Clarity instead of confusion. Faith instead of fear.

Because you are no longer living by the world’s system.

You are living by the Kingdom.

Where love is never wasted. Where obedience always bears fruit. And where what truly matters cannot always be counted but it is always seen by God.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for showing me what truly matters.

Teach me to live from love, not from fear. Realign my heart where I have made money the measure, the focus, or my security.

Help me to trust You as my source.

Show me how to serve You and others with what You have already placed in my hands. Teach me to give, to create, and to obey without holding back.

Let Your love flow through everything I do.

And where I have been striving, bring me back into rest. Where I have been afraid, fill me again with Your peace.

I choose you.

I choose Your Kingdom. I choose Your ways. I choose love.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
