Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father,
As we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, we join the crowd in shouting, “Hosanna!” We welcome You into our hearts again with fresh joy, gratitude, and reverence. Prepare us this Holy Week to follow You more closely, and help us to honor You not just with our words, but with our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
READING
Matthew 21:9
And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!
REFLECTION
Palm Sunday reminds us that the people joyfully welcomed Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah. They laid their cloaks and palm branches before Him – a sign of honor and recognition of His kingship.
Yet just days later, many of those same voices would cry out for His crucifixion. Palm Sunday challenges us to reflect: Are we welcoming Jesus only in the good moments, or are we committed to following Him, even when it’s hard?
The King who entered on a donkey came in humility, not to overthrow governments but to conquer sin and death. He still comes gently to us today – inviting us to lay down our pride, our fears, and our distractions, and to truly worship Him as the King of our lives.
MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Committing to Heart: Take time this week to reflect on this verse. Write it out in your journal, or use it in a creative lettering piece. As you do, say it aloud and imagine being in the crowd, waving your palm branch. What would you want to say to Jesus?CREATING AND MEDITATING
Choose a creative activity:Option 1: Palm Branch Watercolor Painting or Drawing
Paint or draw palm branches and write the word “Hosanna!” across your artwork. As you create, reflect on what it means to you to welcome Jesus into your life again this Holy Week.
Option 2: Quiet Worship Time with Journaling
Light a candle, put on gentle worship music, and spend 15–20 minutes quietly journaling a letter to Jesus, welcoming Him into every part of your heart and life. You can also write a personal prayer of surrender, crowning Him as your King.
TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
This week, look for a way to honor Jesus publicly – just as the crowd did. This might be sharing a Scripture on social media, sending an encouraging message with a Palm Sunday reflection to a friend, or even just declaring aloud in prayer that He is your King. Ask yourself: How can I lay my own “palm branches” before Him this week?Hymn
All Glory, Laud and Honor
1 All glory, laud, and honor to you, Redeemer, King, to whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring. You are the King of Israel and David’s royal Son, now in the Lord’s name coming, the King and Blessed One.
2 The company of angels is praising you on high; and we with all creation in chorus make reply. The people of the Hebrews with palms before you went; our praise and prayer and anthems before you we present.
3 To you before your passion they sang their hymns of praise; to you, now high exalted, our melody we raise. As you received their praises, accept the prayers we bring, for you delight in goodness, O good and gracious King!

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are the true King – the humble King who came in peace. We welcome You with grateful hearts. Help us not to be like the crowd that wavered, but to be faithful followers every day. May our lives honor You, and may we walk with You throughout this Holy Week. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
