Introduction

I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life

jesus way

Bible Verse: “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6, WEB

jesus truth

What This Means: Jesus tells us that He is the only way to know God and have eternal life with Him. He is the truth, which means He shows us what is real and right. He is the life, offering us a life full of purpose and peace. When we follow Jesus, we are following the way to be with God forever. No one can come to God without Jesus, but through Him, we can know God’s love and live with Him forever.

jesus life

Creative Activity: Draw a picture of a path or a road, and write what “the way,” “the truth,” and “the life” mean to you. What does it look like for you to follow Jesus on that path?

1. Jesus is the Son of God

god's love and son

Bible Verse: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16, WEB What This Means: Jesus is the Son of God. He came to earth because God loves us and wants us to be with Him forever. Jesus is not just a prophet or a teacher – He is God’s Son, God in human form, sent to show us how to live and to offer us eternal life with God. To save us, He had to become one of us, fully human while still being fully God. When Jesus died on the cross, He took the punishment for our sins. Sin separates us from God and brings death, but Jesus’ death made it possible for us to be forgiven. Because of His sacrifice, we can be clean in God’s sight and have a new life with Him. When we believe in Jesus, we are saved from the power of sin, which means we can live the way God created us to live – free, forgiven, and full of hope. Creative Activity: Draw a cross and write the verse John 3:16 next to it or below it. Around it, draw symbols that represent forgiveness, like a clean heart, or peace. Reflect on how Jesus’ sacrifice saves you from sin and gives you new life.

2. Jesus is God

jesus god and man

Bible Verse: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1, WEB What This Means: Jesus is not just a man; He is also fully God. He was with God from the very beginning, before anything was created. Jesus, who is called the Word, is God Himself in human form. When He came to earth, He did not stop being God, but He became a human to show us who God truly is. Because Jesus is fully God, He has all the power and authority of God. He is perfect and holy, and He can do what no one else can – bring us into a relationship with God. Jesus shows us what God is like through His love, His teachings, and His actions. Creative Activity: Draw a picture of a crown and write “God” in the center. Around it, draw or write things that show what God is like – love, power, and truth. Reflect on what it means that Jesus is fully God.

3. Jesus Saves Us from Sin

salvation

Bible Verse: “She shall give birth to a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21, WEB What This Means: Sin is when we do things that go against God’s perfect way and will. It can be anything from lying, stealing, or being unkind to others, to thinking or doing things that hurt our relationship with God. God gave us the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) to show us what is right and wrong, but because of sin, none of us can perfectly follow them on our own. The Bible also tells us that if we break even one of God’s commandments, we are guilty of breaking them all: “For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.” (James 2:10, WEB) This means that no one is without sin. Sin started with the first people, Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:4-3:24), and it affects everyone. Because of sin, we are separated from God, who is perfect and holy. Jesus came to save us from the punishment of sin, which is death, by dying on the cross in our place. He offers us forgiveness, so we no longer have to be separated from God. Through Jesus, we can be made clean and start a new life with God, free from the guilt and power of sin. Creative Activity: Draw a picture of Jesus on the cross and write the verse Matthew 1:21 around it. Below, write or draw symbols that represent forgiveness, like a clean heart, a dove, or a key to symbolize freedom. Reflect on how Jesus saves you from sin and what it means to be forgiven.

4. Jesus’ Teachings

jesus teachings

Bible Verse: “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.’” Matthew 16:24, WEB What This Means: Jesus taught us how to live in a way that pleases God. His teachings help us understand how to love God and others. One of the most important things Jesus taught is that we must follow Him, even when it’s hard. He calls us to give up selfishness, deny ourselves, put others first, and be willing to follow Him, no matter the cost. Jesus taught in many different ways. He spoke in parables, which are short stories with deep meanings that help us understand spiritual truths. He also gave sermons, like the Sermon on the Mount, where He taught about the Kingdom of God, love, and forgiveness. Jesus used questions to make people think deeply about their lives and their relationship with God. He also gave commandments, teaching us to love others, forgive, and live humbly. Through His actions, like healing and helping others, He showed us how to live and love. When we follow Jesus’ teachings, we are living the way God created us to live, reflecting His love and truth. Creative Activity: Draw a picture of a cross and a path leading up to it. Along the path, write or draw symbols representing the different ways Jesus taught – like a book for His teachings, a heart for love, and a question mark for His questions. Reflect on what it means to follow Jesus in your everyday life. What are some ways you can live out His teachings?

5. The Miracles of Jesus

miracles

Bible Verse: “With God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26, WEB

What This Means: Jesus performed many miracles during His time on earth, showing us the power and love of God. These miracles were extraordinary events, such as healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, calming storms, feeding thousands of people with just a small amount of food, and even raising the dead. Each of these miracles was a sign that Jesus was not just an ordinary man – He is the Son of God, with power and authority over all things. Jesus’ miracles also teach us important truths about God’s heart. They show us that God is compassionate and cares deeply about our needs, whether they are big or small. For example, when Jesus fed the hungry crowd or healed people who were suffering, He demonstrated His love for all people and His willingness to meet their physical and spiritual needs. His miracles also remind us that God is in control, even when life feels overwhelming. When we read about the miracles of Jesus, we are reminded that God is still powerful today. Nothing is impossible for Him. We can bring our worries, struggles, and problems to Him, knowing that He is able to help us. His miracles give us hope and show us that He is always near, ready to work in our lives in amazing ways. Creative Activity: Write down a situation in your life where you need God’s help. Then, draw a picture of what it might look like when God works in that situation. How does it feel to trust in God’s power and know that nothing is impossible for Him?

6. The Sacrifice of Jesus

jesus sacrifice

Bible Verse: “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13, WEB

What This Means: Jesus showed the greatest love by willingly giving His life for us. Because of sin, we were separated from God, but Jesus took our place. He suffered and died on the cross to pay for our sins so that we could be forgiven and have a restored relationship with God. His sacrifice was not forced – He chose to do it because of His deep love for us.

Through His death, Jesus made a way for us to receive God’s grace and eternal life. But the story doesn’t end there – on the third day, He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death forever. Because of what Jesus did, we no longer have to be afraid of being separated from God. When we believe in Him and accept His sacrifice, we become children of God and receive the promise of eternal life with Him. Jesus’ sacrifice is the greatest act of love the world has ever known. When we understand what He did for us, our hearts are filled with gratitude. His love changes our lives, giving us hope, peace, and a future with Him.

Creative Activity: Write a thank-you note to Jesus for His sacrifice. Tell Him what His love and forgiveness mean to you. Decorate your note with hearts or a cross as a reminder of His great love.

7. The Resurrection of Jesus

jesus resurrection

Bible Verse: “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.’” John 11:25, WEB

What This Means: Jesus’ resurrection is the greatest proof of His power over sin and death. After dying on the cross, He was buried, but on the third day, He rose again! This shows that death could not hold Him, and because He lives, we can have eternal life with Him. His resurrection is a promise that all who believe in Him will one day be raised to live forever with God. When Jesus rose from the dead, He showed us that nothing is impossible for God. His victory means that sin and death no longer have the final say in our lives. Because of Him, we have hope, joy, and a future that goes beyond this life. No matter what challenges we face, we can trust that Jesus has already won the victory. His resurrection gives us the confidence that we are never alone and that His love will carry us through every difficulty. Creative Activity: Draw a sunrise to represent new beginnings. As you color it, think about how Jesus gives you hope. Write one way He has brought hope into your life.

8. Following Jesus Today

follow jesus

Bible Verse: “Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there my servant will also be.” John 12:26, WEB

What This Means: Following Jesus is more than just believing in Him – it means making Him both our Savior and our Lord. To make Jesus our Savior means to trust that He has saved us from our sins, but to make Him our Lord means we allow Him to be the ruler of our lives. It means we let Him guide our actions, decisions, and how we live each day. Living for Jesus means following the way He taught us. We follow Him by loving others, forgiving, praying, reading the Bible, and sharing His message. When we live like Jesus, we show His love to the world. Serving Jesus also means trusting Him in every part of our lives. He wants us to help others, be kind, and make choices that honor God. Even when life is hard, Jesus promises to be with us and guide us. When we follow Him, we are never alone – He walks with us every step of the way. Creative Activity: Create a “Daily Walk with Jesus” checklist with simple actions like praying, reading the Bible, showing kindness, or helping others. Decorate it and use it as a reminder to follow Jesus each day.

Conclusion: Jesus is the Way

jesus opens the door for you

Bible Verse: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him.” Revelation 3:20, WEB

What This Means: Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart, inviting you into a relationship with Him. He loves you and wants you to know Him personally. He is ready to forgive your sins, give you a fresh start, and fill your life with peace, joy, and purpose. All you need to do is open the door and say yes to Him. When you believe in Jesus, you are choosing to follow Him as your Lord and Savior. He is the only way to God, and through Him, you can receive the gift of eternal life. If you have never invited Jesus into your life, now is the perfect time. He is waiting for you with open arms. Praying to surrender your life to Jesus is the first step in beginning a new life with Him. However, just praying a prayer is not the sign that you are a child of God. It is about genuinely opening your heart to Him, believing in His love and sacrifice for you, and deciding to follow Him with sincerity. This is the start of a lifelong commitment to trust Him, grow in His Word, and live out His teachings every day. When you surrender your life to Jesus as your Savior and Lord, your life needs to be fully transformed. This means allowing Him to change your heart and actions so that you can live the way He taught. It’s not just about believing in Jesus but living for Him, making choices that reflect His love and teachings. Following Jesus is a process of becoming more like Him each day, and that transformation happens as you spend time with Him in prayer, study His Word, and walk in obedience to His will. Creative Activity: Write a short prayer asking Jesus to come into your life and help you follow Him every day. If you are ready, you can pray something like this: “Dear Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I know I have sinned, and I need Your forgiveness. Thank You for dying on the cross for me and rising from the dead to take my sins away. I open my heart to You today. Please come into my life, be my Lord and Savior, and help me follow You always. Amen.” If you prayed this prayer from your heart, it is the beginning of your journey with Jesus. You are now invited into a lifelong relationship with God and become a child of God. Keep growing in your faith by reading the Bible, praying, and connecting with other believers who will encourage you in following Jesus every day.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
