Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father,

When the world feels dark or uncertain, help us to lift our eyes to You. Teach us to trust Your timing and rest in Your promises. Remind us that You are our salvation, and that You always hear us when we call. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

READING

Micah 7:7

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

REFLECTION

Micah lived in a time of corruption, injustice, and despair – but even in the midst of it all, he made a personal decision: “I will look to the Lord.” When everything around us seems broken, confusing, or painful, this verse invites us to respond like Micah – with unwavering hope in God. Waiting on God doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means actively trusting Him, even when we don’t see the answers right away. It means believing that He hears us and that His salvation is near. Where in your life do you need to wait on God with hope?

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Committing to Heart:
Write Micah 7:7 on a card or sticky note. Surround the words with illustrations of eyes looking upward, praying hands, or a sunrise to represent hope. Put it somewhere you will see it often this week.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

Choose a creative activity:

Option 1: “Watch & Wait” Art Page

Create a visual scene of someone waiting on a mountaintop or looking toward the horizon. Let this be a picture of your soul waiting for God with expectation and trust. As you draw or paint, speak Micah 7:7 aloud as a declaration of faith.

Option 2: Prayer Waiting Journal

Start a “waiting” section in your prayer journal. Write down things you are waiting on God for – answers, healing, provision, restoration. Next to each one, write Micah 7:7 as a reminder that He hears and He saves.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

This week, take a moment each day to pause and look to God – especially when you feel anxious or impatient. Instead of rushing into worry or solutions, whisper a short prayer like, “I wait for You, Lord.” Let this habit build your trust and deepen your peace.

Hymn

O Father, Thou Who Givest All

1 God is my strong salvation; what foe have I to fear? In peril and temptation my light, my help, is near. Though hosts encamp around me, firm to the fight I stand; what terror can confound me, with God at my right hand?

2 Place on the Lord reliance; my soul, with courage wait; God’s truth be thine affiance, when faint and desolate. God’s might thy heart shall strengthen, God’s love thy joy increase; mercy thy days shall lengthen; the Lord will give thee peace

Words: James Montgomery, Music: Timothy R. Matthews

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You that even when we wait, You are still working. Help us to look to You in every situation – with trust, patience, and hope. Strengthen our hearts to believe that You hear us, and You are faithful to save. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

If you have been blessed by this Creative Devotional, please share it with others. Many thanks. God bless you!

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
