Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, as we delve into the short book of Jude this week, open our eyes to its message of perseverance and truth. Grant us the courage to stand firm in our faith and the wisdom to discern truth from deception. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
READING
Jude 1:3
Beloved, although I was very zealous to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
REFLECTION
Jude’s letter, a mere 25 verses, packs a powerful punch. He urges believers to “contend for the faith,” a call that resonates even today. In a world filled with competing ideologies, Jude reminds us to hold fast to the truth of the gospel message, the “faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” Consider:- What does “contending for the faith” look like in your daily life?
- How can you discern truth from misinformation when it comes to matters of faith?
MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Let Jude 1:3 (ESV) be your guiding light this week: “Beloved, although I was very zealous to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” Remember the importance of actively living out and defending your faith.
CREATING AND MEDITATING
Choose a creative activity: Option 1: Create a “shield of faith” collage. Draw a shield and within it, incorporate symbols or words that represent your faith. Consider what strengthens your faith and how you can use it to protect yourself from spiritual deception. Option 2: Dig Deeper into the Book of Jude.- Choose three verses that resonate with you. Write them down and reflect on why they stand out. How do they apply to your life today?
- Create a character map. Identify the key characters in Jude’s letter (Jude himself, false teachers, believers). Consider their motivations, actions, and the message Jude delivers about them.
- Write a letter “as if” you are a believer in Jude’s time. What challenges might you be facing? How would Jude’s message encourage you?
TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
Contending for the faith isn’t just about internal battles. This week, find a way to share your faith with others in a loving and respectful way. It could be through open conversation, acts of service, or simply living out your faith in a way that inspires others.
Hymn
Living by Faith
1. If, on a quiet sea, Tow’rd heav’n we calmly sail, With grateful hearts, O God, to Thee, We’ll own the fav’ring gale; With grateful hearts, O God, to Thee, We’ll own the fav’ring gale.
2. But should the surges rise, And rest delay to come, Blest be the tempest, kind the storm, Which drives us nearer home; Blest be the tempest, kind the storm, Which drives us nearer home.
3. Soon shall our doubts and fears All yield to Thy control; Thy tender mercies shall illume The midnight of the soul; Thy tender mercies shall illume The midnight of the soul.
4. Teach us, in ev’ry state, To make Thy will our own; And when the joys of sense depart, To live by faith alone; And when the joys of sense depart, To live by faith alone.

Closing Prayer
Dear God, we confess that sometimes we struggle to stand firm in our faith. Grant us the courage to contend for the truth and the wisdom to discern Your will. Empower us to share the message of salvation with love and conviction. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
