Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, the true Light, to bring life and hope to the world. Open our hearts to receive Your Word, and guide us to reflect His light in our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
READING
John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
REFLECTION
John begins his Gospel with a profound declaration of who Jesus is: the eternal Word of God who became flesh and lived among us. In this verse, we are reminded of the miracle of the Incarnation – God stepping into human history to dwell with His creation. Jesus’ presence brings grace and truth, illuminating the darkness and offering us the gift of eternal life. His glory, revealed in His love, compassion, and sacrifice, draws us closer to the Father. As believers, we are called to not only receive His light but also to share it with the world around us. Consider:- How does the truth that “the Word became flesh” deepen your understanding of God’s love for you?
- In what ways can you reflect the grace and truth of Jesus in your daily interactions?
MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Let John 1:14 inspire you this week: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (ESV). Reflect on this verse during your quiet times to strengthen your connection to Jesus.CREATING AND MEDITATING
Choose a creative activity: Option 1: “Glory of Jesus” Reflection Journal. Dedicate a page in your journal to meditate on the glory of Jesus. Write about the moments in Scripture where His grace and truth are evident. Add personal reflections on how His presence has brought light and transformation into your life. Option 2: Bible Journaling: The Word Became Flesh. In your Bible or a separate journaling notebook, create an artistic depiction of John 1:14. Use imagery such as light shining in darkness, an open scroll symbolizing the Word, or a manger representing the Incarnation. As you journal, meditate on what it means for Jesus to dwell among us.TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
This week, let Jesus’ example inspire you to share His light with others. Reach out to someone who needs encouragement, show grace in a challenging situation, or share a Scripture verse that speaks of His love. Be intentional in living out His truth and grace.
Hymn
O Word of God Incarnate
1 O Word of God incarnate, O Wisdom from on high, O Truth, unchanged, unchanging, O Light of our dark sky, we praise Thee for the radiance that from the hallowed page, a lantern to our footsteps, shines on from age to age.
2 The church from her dear Master received the gift divine, and still that light she lifteth o’er all the earth to shine. It is the golden casket, where gems of truth are stored; it is the heav’n-drawn picture Of Christ, the living Word.
3 It floateth like a banner before God’s host unfurled; it shineth like a beacon above the darkling world. It is the chart and compass that o’er life’s surging sea, ‘mid mists and rocks and quicksands, still guides, O Christ, to Thee.
4 O make Thy Church, dear Savior, a lamp of burnished gold, to bear before the nations Thy true light as of old. O teach Thy wand’ring pilgrims by this, their path to trace, ’til, clouds and darkness ended, they see Thee face to face.
Words: William Walsham How, Music: Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for dwelling among us and revealing the glory of the Father. Help us to walk in Your light and share it with those around us. May we reflect Your grace and truth in all we do. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
