The Nature of God

Since God has mercy and loves us, He has revealed some of his qualities to us.

God is not “a spirit” rather He is “spirit”. Being Spirit is His nature. He is not a physical being.

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

Because God has no physical form, it is written in the ten commandments that it is forbidden to make any images of Him.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:4-6

God is One, but He exists as three Persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17

God exists everywhere (omnipresent).

Where shall I go from your Spirit?     Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there!     If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning     and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me,     and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,     and the light about me be night,”  even the darkness is not dark to you;     the night is bright as the day,     for darkness is as light with you. Psalm 139:7-12

God knows everything (omniscient).

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Psalm 147:5

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28

God has all power and authority (omnipotent).

even the darkness is not dark to you;     the night is bright as the day,     for darkness is as light with you. For you formed my inward parts;     you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works;     my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret,     intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them,     the days that were formed for me,     when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:12-16

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Revelation 19:6

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
