Who Can Give Us Salvation?
God’s gift to save us from the punishment for our sins was sending His own Son down to earth to pay the punishment for our sins by dying on the cross, being buried, and resurrected. Jesus’ sacrifice, His substitutionary atonement, is the only way that can save us from condemnation and the wrath of God. He is the propitiation for our sins. Upon believing that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, we accept God’s gracious gift and can be reconciled with God and be saved from eternal death in hell. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. Romans 1:18 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him .John 3:17 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:6-11 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10 And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:24-26 It’s time for our fourth definition for salvation.4. Salvation is available in Jesus Christ alone.
