Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being our refuge and our glory. When the world feels overwhelming, remind us that You are a wall of fire around us and that Your presence is always near. Strengthen our faith to trust in Your protection and peace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
READING
Zechariah 2:5
And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst.
REFLECTION
God gives His people two precious promises here: His protection and His presence.
-
The wall of fire means He Himself surrounds us, keeping the enemy at bay. No earthly barrier could be stronger than God’s own presence shielding us.
-
The glory in the midst reminds us that God doesn’t only protect us from the outside – He dwells with us on the inside.
When life feels uncertain or we feel attacked spiritually, we can remember that God is both our fortress and our companion. He surrounds us and fills us with His presence, assuring us we are never alone.
MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Committing to Heart:
“I will be to her a wall of fire all around…and the glory in her midst.” – Zechariah 2:5
Write this verse on a card and draw flames or rays of light around it. Place it somewhere you see daily as a reminder of God’s protection and presence.
CREATING AND MEDITATING
Choose a creative activity:Option 1: Wall of Fire Illustration
In your journal, sketch or paint a circle of fire representing God’s protection. Inside the circle, write your name or your family’s names. Around it, add words that describe God’s glory – love, peace, strength, joy.
Option 2: Glory Collage
Create a small collage (paper or digital) of images that represent God’s glory in your life – sunrises, light, family, worship, answered prayers. Add the words “God’s glory in our midst” as the centerpiece.
TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
This week, whenever you feel anxious or under pressure, pause and whisper: “Lord, You are my wall of fire. You are my glory within.”
Also, encourage someone who feels vulnerable by sharing Zechariah 2:5 with them. Remind them that God not only defends but also dwells with His children.
Hymn
Protect Us Lord From Fatal Harm
1 Protect us Lord, from fatal harm; Behold our rising woes; We trust alone Thy powerful arm, To scatter all our foes.
2 Their tongue is like a poisoned dart, Their thoughts are full of guile; While rage and carnage swell their heart; They wear a peaceful smile.
3 O God of grace, Thy guardian care, When foes without invade, Or spread within a deeper snare, Supplies our constant aid.
4 Let falsehood flee before Thy face, Thy heavenly truth extend, And nations taste Thy heavenly grace, And all delusion end.
5 With daily bread the poor supply, The cause of justice plead; And be Thy Church exalted high, With Christ, the glorious Head.
Words: Joel Barlow, Music: No information
Closing Prayer
Father,
Thank You for surrounding us with Your presence and protecting us with Your power. Help us to live with confidence, knowing You are both our shield and our glory. Keep us close to You, and let us shine with Your light. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
