Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before you to explore the story of Ruth and learn from her faith and loyalty. May her example inspire us to seek your will and walk faithfully in your ways. Speak to us through your Word today. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

READING

Ruth 1:16

But Ruth said, ‘Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.

REFLECTION

Reflect on the verse from Ruth 1:16. Consider the deep loyalty and faith of Ruth as she made her commitment to Naomi. Think about the significance of her words and the profound impact of her choice on her life and the lives of others.

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Write down Ruth 1:16 and commit it to memory. Let Ruth’s words be a source of inspiration and a reminder of the importance of faith and loyalty in our own lives.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

In this part of the devotional, you have the option to choose between two creative activities:
  1. Artistic Expression: Create a piece of art that represents the faith and loyalty demonstrated by Ruth. Use colors, symbols, or images that reflect her commitment.
  2. Journaling: Write in your journal about a time when you made a significant commitment or choice in your life. Reflect on the faith and loyalty that guided your decision.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

Consider practical ways to apply the message of faith and loyalty:
  1. Supporting Loved Ones: Identify someone in your life who needs support or encouragement. Be there for them, just as Ruth was for Naomi.
  2. Community Involvement: Seek opportunities to engage with and support your local community, reflecting the spirit of Ruth’s commitment.
  3. Strengthening Faith: Take steps to deepen your faith and relationship with God, just as Ruth embraced Naomi’s God as her own.
  4. Commitment Renewal: Reflect on your commitments in life, particularly in your relationships, and consider how you can renew and strengthen them.

Hymn

Wherever You Go, I Will Go

Wherever you go, I will go, Wherever you dwell, I will dwell; Your people will be my people, And your God will be my God. Wherever you go, I will go, Wherever you dwell, I will dwell; Your people will be my people, And your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die; And there will I be buried. Jehovah do to me, and more as well, If anything but death parts me from you. Jehovah do to me, and more as well, If anything but death parts me from you.

Words: Bible, Old Testament, Ruth 1:16-17, Music: Howard Higashi

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the example of Ruth, a woman of great faith and loyalty. As we conclude this time of reflection and creativity, may her story inspire us to make faithful and loyal choices in our lives. Guide us on the path of unwavering commitment to you and others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

If you have been blessed by this Creative Devotional, please share it with others. Many thanks. God bless you!

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
