Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You with open hearts, desiring to grow deeper in our faith. Jesus, strengthen us to walk in You daily, firm in our belief and overflowing with gratitude. Holy Spirit, guide our steps so that we remain rooted in truth. Amen.

READING

Colossians 2:6-7

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

REFLECTION

Paul encourages believers to remain deeply rooted in Christ, just as a strong tree stands firm with deep roots. Our faith is not meant to be shallow or easily swayed, but steadfast and growing, nourished by His truth. Walking in Christ means living in a way that reflects our faith, trusting Him through every season, and expressing gratitude for His work in our lives.

Consider:
  • What does being “rooted in Christ” look like in your daily life?
  • How can you ensure that your faith continues to grow and strengthen?
  • In what ways can you express thanksgiving for all that God has done?

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Memorize the Word:
Let Colossians 2:6-7 be a guiding truth for you this week. Write it on a note card or in your journal. Reflect on it in the morning and before bed, allowing it to take deep root in your heart.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

Choose a creative activity:

Option 1: Scripture Art Journaling
Create a visual representation of Colossians 2:6-7. Use imagery of strong roots, a flourishing tree, or a path representing your walk with Christ. As you create, meditate on how your faith is growing and being strengthened in Him.

Option 2: Thanksgiving Reflection Walk
Take a walk in nature and observe the strength of trees, their deep roots, and the way they grow upward. As you walk, reflect on how God has been growing and strengthening your faith. Use this time to pray and give thanks for His presence in your life.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

This week, be intentional about strengthening your faith. Dedicate time to reading Scripture, praying, and seeking fellowship with other believers. Identify an area where you need to trust God more deeply and take a step forward in faith, knowing that you are firmly rooted in Him.

Hymn

In Christ

1 “In Christ!”“In Christ!” Oh, wondrous words, That gem th’Apostle’s pages! How shine they for all humble souls Throughout the weary ages! They speak of pardon full and free, A new exalted station; It’s mine! It’s mine, this gift divine, This precious consolation.

Refrain: In Christ I trust, in Christ I stand, Oh, hear my grateful story, I’ll tell it out while life shall last, In Christ is all my glory.

2 In Christ! In Christ from Satan’s wiles I find a sure protection; No one shall pluck me from his hand, Or from his strong affection. In him I find rich grace to help, Which none on earth can render; A refuge near from ev’ry fear, A fellowship most tender. [Refrain]

3 In Christ! In Christ my destiny Is bright with prospects glorious; Because he lives I too shall live, O’er sin and death victorious. In heav’nly places he’s my pledge By bonds no foe can sever; In him above I’ll share God’s love Forever and forever. [Refrain]

Words: Henry F. Colby, Music: Ira B. Wilson

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for planting us in Christ and for nurturing our faith. Jesus, help us to remain strong and steadfast in You, walking in Your ways with confidence. Holy Spirit, remind us daily to be grateful for Your presence and guidance. May our lives reflect the depth of our trust in You. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
