Kingdom Devotional – Can You Be Dead Although You Are Alive?

Introduction
Can you be dead even though you are alive? The answer is yes – but not in a physical way. Many people live fully in their bodies and minds, yet their spirit remains dead before God. Spiritual death is real, and it carries eternal consequences if it is not addressed. What It Means to Be Spiritually Dead
God created humanity to live eternally in fellowship with Him. In His original design, man was fully alive in body, soul, and spirit. But sin entered the world through Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and with it came both physical and spiritual death. Romans 5:12 says, “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.”
Being spiritually dead means your spirit cannot commune with God. Ephesians 2:1 says, “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked.” Though you may live in your body and mind, your spirit cannot know God, produce spiritual fruit, or experience eternal life apart from Him. Colossians 2:13 adds, “And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.”
What Happens If You Stay Spiritually Dead
If a person remains spiritually dead, separation from God continues in this life and extends into eternity. Isaiah 59:2 warns, “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”
Without Christ, spiritual death leads to the second death – eternal separation from God and living in a place called hell forever. Revelation 21:8 says, “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” Sin caused death, but God provides a way to restore life through Jesus Christ.
How You Can Come Spiritually Alive
Jesus Christ brings life to the dead spirit. John 11:25 says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” Faith in Jesus awakens your spirit, reconciles you to God, and removes the separation caused by sin.
John 5:24 promises, “Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” When you believe in Jesus, your spirit comes alive, restoring the life God originally intended.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we recognize that sin brought both physical and spiritual death and separated us from You. Awaken our hearts and breathe new life into us. Deliver us from eternal separation from You and from the second death. Help us to believe, surrender, and walk daily in Your Spirit. Restore in us the life You originally designed, and may we reflect Your Kingdom in all we do. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
End Times Series – Part 5: False Miracles
I once had a dream that looked like the rapture had taken place – people were suddenly gone, vanishing without warning. There was no light, no sound, just absence. But deep inside, I knew something was wrong. Later, I realized it was not from God – it was a counterfeit rapture, a deception meant to mimic what believers are waiting for.
The Bible warns us that in the last days, the Antichrist will perform false miracles and lying signs to deceive even believers.
2 Thessalonians 2:9–10 (ESV) says:
“The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.”
And Jesus said in Matthew 24:24 (ESV):
“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.”
In these last days, deception will not always look evil. It will often look divine – appealing to our senses and emotions, even wrapped in the language of light and love. That’s why discernment through the Holy Spirit is vital. We test every spirit, every message, and every sign by the Word of God.
True miracles glorify Christ, not man. They draw us closer to repentance, not confusion. They produce fruit that lasts, not temporary excitement.
So let us stay anchored in Scripture, walking in truth and spiritual discernment. The closer we are to Jesus, the harder it becomes for deception to reach us.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God…” – 1 John 4:1 (ESV)

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute and Axx Bible College. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
