Introduction: Learning from Jesus
Big Idea:
Jesus taught us how to live in a way that pleases God and brings peace, joy, and love.
Simple Explanation:
His words are like a light that helps us walk the right path. When we follow Jesus’ teachings, we live in a way that reflects God’s love and truth.
Bible Verse: “Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12, WEBCreative Activity:
Draw a picture of a person following Jesus. You can show Jesus in front with a path leading behind Him, and write “I will follow Jesus” underneath.

1. The Beatitudes – Jesus’ Blessings for the Heart
Bible Verse:“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Matthew 5:3–6, WEBWhat This Means:
In the Beatitudes, Jesus tells us that we are blessed when we are kind, humble, and trust in God – especially in hard times. Even when we face challenges, God sees our hearts and promises to bless us. Being poor in spirit means realizing we need God, and mourning means being sorry for sin. The meek are humble and gentle, and those who hunger for what is right will find fulfillment in God’s ways.
Life Application:
To live out the Beatitudes, we can practice kindness, humility, and seek to do what is right. Here are some ways to show these blessings each day:
Kindness: Help others without expecting anything in return.
Humility: Treat others with respect and think of their needs before your own.
Peace: Be someone who calms arguments and brings people together.
Trust in God: Believe that God is with you, even during tough times.
Creative Activity:
Create a “Blessed Heart” collage. Draw or write the different ways your heart can follow Jesus. Include actions like showing kindness, being humble, or seeking peace. What do these blessings look like in your life?

2. Love God and Love Others – The Greatest Commandments
Bible Verse:“Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37–39, WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus taught that the most important thing we can do is love. First, we should love God with everything in us – our thoughts, our hearts, and our actions. Second, we should love the people around us the same way we want to be loved. This kind of love shows through kindness, forgiveness, helping others, and spending time with God. Love isn’t just a feeling – it’s how we live every day.
Life Application:
Loving God means praying, worshipping, reading the Bible, listening to Him, and choosing to obey His Word. Loving others means treating everyone with kindness, sharing, being honest, having compassion for others, saying sorry, forgiving others, and helping without being asked. Try to notice how you can love God and others each day.
Creative Activity:
Make a heart-shaped foldable. On one side, write or draw ways you can show love to God (like praying, worshipping, obeying). On the other side, write or draw ways to love others (like helping, sharing, forgiving, encouraging).

3. The Parable of the Good Samaritan – Helping Everyone
Bible Verse:“But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion.” – Luke 10:33 WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus teaches us to love and care for all people – no matter where they are from, what they look like, or how different they may be. The Good Samaritan helped a stranger when others walked away. That’s the kind of love and kindness Jesus wants us to show too.
Life Application:
Can you think of someone who needs help this week? Maybe a friend, a neighbor, or someone at school or church. Even small acts of kindness matter!
Creative Activity:
Draw a helping hand and write or draw one act of kindness you can do for someone this week. You can even add a smiley face to remind you that kindness brings joy!

4. The Parable of the Lost Sheep – God Cares for You
Bible Verse:“I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.” Luke 15:7, WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had 100 sheep but lost one. Instead of staying with the 99, he went to find the one that was lost. That’s how much God cares for each of us – He doesn’t forget anyone. When we come back to Him, He celebrates!
Life Application:
No matter how far you feel from God, He always wants you back. You are special to Him, and He will never stop loving you.
Creative Activity:
Create a “Found by God” sheep!
Draw or cut out a fluffy sheep and write your name on it. Decorate it however you like – with hearts, sparkles, or colors – to show that you are loved and found by God.

5. Forgiveness – A Big Part of Love
Bible Verse:“Then Peter came and said to him, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I don’t tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.’”Matthew 18:21–22, WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus wants us to forgive others again and again – just like God forgives us. Forgiveness can be hard, but it sets our hearts free. When we forgive, we are showing love and mercy, just like Jesus.
Life Application:
Is there someone you need to forgive or ask forgiveness from? Ask Jesus to help you. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting but choosing love instead of holding a grudge.
Creative Activity:
Write a forgiveness letter (even if you don’t send it) or draw a picture showing two people forgiving each other with open arms and smiles.

6. The Lord’s Prayer – How Jesus Taught Us to Pray
Bible Verse:“Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.’” Matthew 6:9–13, WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus taught us how to talk to God with love, trust, and honor. The Lord’s Prayer helps us remember to thank God, ask for what we need, forgive others, and ask for His help every day.
Life Application:
Try to learn the Lord’s Prayer and say it each day this week. Think about what each part means and how it helps you talk to God.
Creative Activity:
Make a mini prayer booklet! Use the parts of the Lord’s Prayer as a guide and write your own simple prayers – like thank you, help me, forgive me, and protect me.

7. Do Not Worry – Trusting God with Everything
Bible Verse:“Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? … But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:25–34, WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus tells us not to worry. Just like God cares for the birds and flowers, He will take care of us too. We can trust Him with everything, even the small stuff.
Life Application:
Think about what you are worried about. Write it down and talk to God about it. Trust that He hears you and will help.
Creative Activity:
Make a “Worry Box.” Decorate a small box or envelope. When you feel worried, write your worry on a paper, pray about it, and place it in the box – giving it to God.

8. Treat Others the Way You Want to Be Treated
Bible Verse:“As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.” Luke 6:31, WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus wants us to treat people kindly, fairly, and with love – just like we hope they treat us. This is called the “Golden Rule.”
Life Application:
Think about how you like to be treated. Are you kind and respectful to others in the same way? Practice the Golden Rule at home, in school, and with friends.
Creative Activity:
Draw a big golden heart. Inside, write or draw 3 ways you can treat others kindly this week.

9. Building on the Rock – Living by Jesus’ Words
Bible Verse:“Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.” Matthew 7:24, WEBWhat This Means:
Jesus tells us that when we listen to His words and live by them, we are strong and safe like a house built on a rock. But if we ignore His teachings, it’s like building a house on sand – it can fall apart easily.
Life Application:
You can build a strong life by doing what Jesus teaches – praying, reading the Bible, being kind, forgiving, and loving others. These are the blocks of a strong and joyful life.
Creative Activity:
Build a “Rock-Solid Life” tower using paper blocks or toy bricks. On each block, write or draw one teaching of Jesus that helps make your life strong.

In Your name, I pray. Amen.
