Weekly Creative Devotional
Opening Prayer
Father, we come before You with hearts that long to know You more. Help us to seek You with all that we are. Open our eyes to Your truth, and guide us to live in a way that reflects Your holiness. May we find life in You alone. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
READING
Amos 5:4
For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: ‘Seek me and live.
REFLECTION
In this passage, God calls Israel to seek Him – not just in words, but in actions, with their hearts and lives. The call to seek the Lord is one that brings life. But this life isn’t simply about survival; it’s a life full of His presence, peace, and purpose.
God is not a distant deity who has little care for His people. He desires to be found by us, to show us His ways and bless us with His presence. When we seek Him, we step into the fullness of life He has for us, even amidst the difficulties we may face.
This is more than a one-time search. It’s a daily pursuit, an invitation to come close to the heart of God, trusting that He is faithful to guide us, protect us, and provide all that we need.
Consider:- How are you actively seeking the Lord in your life right now?
- In what areas of your life do you need to seek His presence more deeply?
MEMORIZING THE VERSE
Committing to Heart:Write Amos 5:4 on a card and place it somewhere visible – a mirror, your desk, or a journal. Reflect on this verse throughout the week and remind yourself that seeking God is the key to true life.
CREATING AND MEDITATING
Choose a creative activity:Option 1: Life Map
Create a “Life Map” in your journal or on a large sheet of paper. Start with a drawing of a tree or a simple path, representing your life’s journey. Along the branches or path, mark moments where you have sought God, such as through prayer, worship, or Scripture. Reflect on the life-giving moments when God has responded to your seeking.
Option 2: Scripture Reflection Song
Choose a favorite worship song that speaks to seeking God or longing for His presence. As you listen, let the lyrics and melodies lead you into reflection on Amos 5:4. Pause and meditate on the phrase “Seek me and live,” and consider how the Lord is inviting you to seek Him more fully.
TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING
This week, make it a point to spend more intentional time seeking the Lord. Whether that’s through prayer, reading Scripture, or listening to worship music, make space for His presence. You might also encourage a friend or family member to join you in this pursuit, creating a shared journey of seeking God together.Hymn
Seek the Lord
1 “Seek the Lord and ye shall live,” Seek the Lord and he’ll forgive; Seek Him, sinner, as you are, Seek the Lord in earnest prayer; “Seek the Lord and ye shall live,” Seek Him, for He will receive Wretched, helpless, poor and blind, Seek the Lord and ye shall find, Seek the Lord and ye shall find.
2 “Seek the Lord and ye shall live,” This your pray’r, “I do believe;” Seek Him early, now, today, Seek the Lord without delay; “Seek the Lord and ye shall live,” Burdened souls he will relieve; Weary pilgrims seeking rest, Find it, leaning on His breast, Find it, leaning on His breast.
3 “Seek the Lord and ye shall live,” He is seeking you to save; Now He’s calling, hear Him cry! Seek Him not, and ye shall die! “Seek the Lord and ye shall live,” O do not His spirit grieve; Seek Him now and by and by, He will take you home on high, He will take you home on high.

Father, we desire to seek You with our whole hearts. We acknowledge that in You alone is life. Help us to pursue You every day and live out the fullness of life You offer. Strengthen us to keep our eyes fixed on You, trusting that You will guide and provide for us in all things. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV
We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
