Weekly Creative Devotional

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we gather before You, open our hearts to the message of love found in Your Word. Teach us to love as You love us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

READING

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

REFLECTION

Reflect on the qualities of love mentioned in the passage. How can you incorporate these qualities into your relationships and interactions with others?

MEMORIZING THE VERSE

Commit 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 to memory. Let it guide your actions in demonstrating love.

CREATING AND MEDITATING

Choose a creative activity:
  1. Option 1: Create a visual representation of love. It could be a collage, drawing, or even a simple word cloud highlighting the attributes of love.
  2. Option 2: Meditate on how you can express love in practical ways. Consider specific actions you can take to demonstrate patience, kindness, and humility.

TAKING ACTION AND APPLYING

Choose one aspect of love mentioned in the passage to focus on this week. Purposefully practice it in your relationships and interactions. Reflect on how it impacts your connections with others.

Hymn

God Is Love

1.

God is Love; His mercy brightens All the path in which we rove; Bliss He wakes and woe He lightens: God is wisdom, God is love.

2.

Chance and change are busy ever; Man decays, and ages move; But His mercy waneth never: God is wisdom, God is love.

3.

E’en the hour that darkest seemeth Will His changeless goodnees prove; From the gloom His brighness streameth; God is wisdom, God is love.

4.

He with earthly cares entwineth Hope and comfort from above; Everywhere His glory shineth; God is wisdom, God is love.

Amen.

Words: John Bowring, Music: Carl Maria von Weber

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of love. Help us embody the qualities of love described in Your Word, and may our lives be a reflection of Your unconditional love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

We are a non-denominational Bible-believing Christian Ministry trained and equipped at the Christian Leaders Institute. Even though our Ministry is based on God's Word, the Bible, you need to approach our teachings like the Bereans and always study the Bible yourself to see if what we teach is aligned with what is written in the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 NIV

We are only humans who 'stumble in many ways' (James 3:2) and we only 'know in part and we prophesy in part' (1 Corinthians 13:9).
